         *The accused of shooting dead 8 policemen in Kanpur’s Bikru village last week, killed in an alleged exchange of fire while being brought to Uttar Pradesh from Ujjain.

Þ     AH-64E Apache attack helicopters

          *        Boeing handed over the last of the five AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to the Indian Air Force (IAF), completing the contract for 22 Apaches.
          *        The Apaches were deployed at the Leh airbase as part of forwarding movement of assets amid the stand-off with China in Ladakh.        
          *        The IAF inducted the 1st batch of Apaches in March 2019 & based at Air Force Station, Pathankhot in Punjab
          *        India contracted 22 Apache helicopters & 15 Chinook helicopters from Boeing through the Foreign Milatary Sales Programmed of US in September 2015 under a of $3billion deal

            *        India recorded a 1.2 million snakebite deaths in 20 year period (2000-19)
            *        Average of 58,000 deaths annually
          *        70% deaths in 8 states – Bihar, Jharkhand, Madya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh(including Telangana), Rajasthan & Gujarath
       *        The study conducted by the Centre for Global Health Research (CGHR) at the University of Toronto, Canada, with Indian & UK partners

Þ     73 Tablighis from abroad released

         *        62 Malaysian & 11 Saudi Arabian nationals, who had participated in the Tablighi Jamaat in March, were released by Delhi courts after payments of fines.
             *        Earlier 60 Malaysians were released  similarly
            *        The foreign nationals faced trails for violating visa norms & the government’s COVID-19 guidelines.
